Crikey. If you had used a rotated turbo setup and slightly higher compression pistons, this would pretty much be my dream setup. Amazing car.

i didnt think they were rated very high.

Just do the 6 speed swap and get it over with. Check with millenium auto a vendor here on nasioc.

They sell kits for 02 wrx's....mine was ~$3800 shipped for an 06 STi 6 speed, r160 rear diff housing with 3.9 gears installed, sti 2 piece driveshaft, shifter linkage, etc. Everything to bolt it up to your car and retain the stock axles and brakes.

Plus the close ratio 6 speed will make a big turbo more fun to drive.

I actually had it installed at HB Speed. Good peeps.

^ i agree with phatron, the 5 speed was not designed for power. The 6 speed was... plus, the 6 speed's ratios were designed with a 8000rpm rev limit in mind. Those gears are made to keep the car in power. you've spent so much on that build/turbo setup, dont cheat yourself or your ride by going soft on the tranny.

I want to see more from the car including a video!

are you worried about your o2 sensors with running that leaded gas all the time?

only got 1 wideband sensor in the exhaust, thats pretty much it, besides the blue AVGAS is .5g/L blue in color compared to the older .8g/L Green in color. I havnt seen any threads on Nasioc about somebody actually using 100LL as a daily so i figure i would start. I know i know ill get bad 02's and im catless so im ok with that.

Ya good lookin Phatron on that 6 speed swap , i was thinking of that. BUT....ive been hearing good things about the MFactory gears equal to PPG sooooo... idk, im 1 grand shy of 3K so ill make sure to give it better thought, i would love a 6 speed non-dccd, OH my what a hard choice. I still have Brakes and rims and cage to think about next after the drivetrain. SOOOOO much $$$$, LOL but it pays to play . And i love this game.

You running stock bearings in that engine? I have a V7 short block and trying to figure out what's safe to run for rpm, it's capped at 8k right now.

went through three , 1st stock didn't last past the jdm engine swap at 280whp, the second on jdm ra gears broke second and main @ 300whp, 3rd trans broke at 355awhp, same gears with cusco tarmac center diff shattered second and chewed up cusco diff bad, Now im on the Newer Cryo Rallispec RA gears, 1 through 4th and new cryo main, and new viscous center diff. Now i have sworn off all drag, LOL to make this trans last at least at least a month till i figure out what to change too, the 6 Speed sounds tempting,

I had a JDM V8 6-speed which had DCCD...and I can't tell you how many times I tried getting my hands on a V7 instead, even offering straight-up trades. I loved my transmission, but I prefer the AP Suretrac and the non-DCCD setup of the V7 anyday.

One of my friends locally has a V7 EJ207 with a 20G setup...makes around 370whp Dynojet on pump gas, and he has a PPG straight-cut box in it. It has long gears, but combined with his huge redline, it's a blast...pulls through every gear.

Maybe it's because I had a really torquey 2.5 setup, but if I were to do it all over again, I'd go built 5-speed/R180. The 6-speed is nice, but longer gearing isn't necessarily a bad thing, plus the reduced weight and drivetrain loss is nice.

Depends on what you want.
