Default Make sure to double-check wiring diagrams before soldering...

Tried fixing the 6-pin DIN connector on my Klipsch 2.1 speakers...read the wiring schematic the wrong way, so all of the wires were soldered in the wrong order.

Plugged it in and couldn't figure out why turning the volume knob up was making it quieter....

Then came the smoke, and smell of fried electronics.

Quickly unplugged the speakers and realized my mistake.

I was able to salvage the satellite speakers, but the sub and amp are fried.

You should have Klipsched the wires when you realized they were hooked up wrong.
