Default Rebuilding the engine...?

Well, I'm still in the market for an '04-'05 STi but just have not found one in my price range with low enough miles for my liking. But I just thought of an idea the other day...finding one for really cheap with 100k+ miles on it and getting the engine rebuilt so it's nearly brand new (duh ).

Anyone done this? Or think this is a good idea?

The only way I'd do it is if I got the car for $2,500-$3,500 cheaper then it would be if I bought it with low miles since the rebuild will be anywhere in between there.
