Default what to do?

Well my wrx is getting up there in miles. I either want to to a rebuild/stroker/or fat 2.5 short block. Which would any of you do and why. Power goals for me would be 300whp-350whp. Cars not really my daily due to me enjoying my e55 more, but i love this car due to it being sooo reliable. Thanks in advance for all the comments.

How many miles are you talking here? I've got 202,000 miles on my 03 and it's perfect still. Doesn't burn oil, gets solid gas mileage still and looks practically brand new :-)

Oh man you're all good for way more mileage :-) I'm thinking about going all back stock and not dealing with the aftermarket parts etc.

It depends how deep your pockets are. I would compare prices for a ej25 longblock to the time and money needed for a 2.2 kit.

Also, I'm assuming you have a stock bugeye tranny, so if your power goals are up to 350 whp, also got to factor the life of the old 5 speed.
I think a used 6spd setup is around 3-4k. That's what I would do if I had money to throw down

Goodluck!

How many miles are on your E55? I had an 07 E63 for 3 years, until it robbed me blind.

E55 still good for many miles. That **** suspension will fail eventually. And it's quite expensive. Unless you go for Arnott replacement struts.

Actually I lied a little about my E63 reliability. I never really had any problems except for the air suspension. The drivetrain was solid. I heard coilover swaps are now readily and cheaply available so that is an option.
