Default Rob eprom chip with fmic - REVEIW -

About a week ago i was on school break for a week and i decided to put my car down for a lil bit..

i installed my
FMIC
swapped out KOYO for stock RS rad/fans
relocated battery to the trunk
installed 550 yellow injectors (with the adapter collars)
lil things here and there.

the on ramp home from swapping the ECUs was amazing.. my car use to experience BRUTAL heat soak (with slanty and no scoop), i dont know what my car would feel like with ONLY the FMIC, and i feel it helps out alot.
well i am very happy with what i got and i cant wait till the next dyno day to see what happens.

Some people claim to have more lag with a FMIC. but i dont feel it that much, if at all..

im just running what the ECU has the boost set to, 16psi. i havent put on my MBC yet. i haven't even been able to get higher then 6000RPMs yet.

thanks Rob for working with me on such short notice.

any advice/comments on your fmic install? I was reading up on the thread from rs25.com but I'd really like to hear from an EJ20G owner.

just have something to cut pipes with, and a file

follow the directions on the turbo U-shape pipe, and the hot side it pretty easy.. the cold side gave me the most problems... but with a cutting wheel and air compressor everything works out. even a sawzall works. i just dont have one (might be easier with that) ... it took me 2 days.. idk its hard to give tips, it can be done as long as u have time and NO ABS!

DONT forget to spray the cuts, so no rust.

I was wondering if you put the skin back on....I think that will change your time estimate a bit

Thanks for the nice comments. I hadn't heard from you so was worried it blew up on the ride home. How bad is the boost spiking on the stock boost control? Did you see the knock indicator flicker at first then go away. Have you tried the launch control?

i have mechanical prosport gauges and i have a hard time reading the boost level when WOT, the boost gauge needle moves up the higher the rpms. idk its hard to explain, there way different then my brothers elec Defi.

the only time i use the launch control was in the parking lot with u... i never launched it off the line..

well its a CXracing Ebay FMIC...its really good to my knowledge... i mean there arent really any FMIC made for GCs... but i got this one used from a guys with a RSti. and had some stuff already cut to fit.. but YES cutting will be involved..

but for 265 shipped is not bad.. some Cores cost more.. anyways.. i have a really good write up on it..

FMIC EBAY listing go get the idea (mine isnt that shiny)

RS25 DIY

and for this write up. u can skip all the way down, at least u guys better know how to take off the bumper.
the hole near the fender is bigger on mine ahah its hard to eye ball where its going. and cut the part it says to "bend" near the bottom.no big deal

and make sure u wipe/rinse/air blast the inside of the pipes.. or your getting metal flakes in your engine.

It shows in the writeup that he an keep his Fogs... i have not put on my RS bumper and i can not confirm.

took me 2 days.

I'm interested in how much power you are putting down. I have basically the same mods as you but with UEL aftermarket headers.
