Well i wish i would have known people like both of you when i had mine. The Subaru game has come a long way in 6 years.

If i could do it all over again i would have went a diff route with the Subaru.... Oh well.

Lets give stu his thread back we are all right in ways. I Try not to argue to much but I try to bring my points across.

And I'm sure we all agree anything fast will break eventually given time and abuse. I've also said in other thread's the 4g63t block is stronger and the head has better port's but if you consider t-case and trans you will spend enough for a few sleeved subaru cases.

Don't get me wrong I respect all types of cars. It's usually the drivers I don't like more then the cars lol.

Oh, I completely agree. For 'big power' in an EJ, we have several more steps that we need to make to our 'foundation' to be able to support it. I know the 4G63 block has it's limitation as well when tuners are splitting stock bore cylinders but that's usually more of the 4 digit crowd. But then they simply sleeve it.

Yup

Although I do have a friend who is now on his 4th or 5th rebuild on his Evo.

I guess the it has to be the fault of the engine design and not the builder

^^^sarcasm if it wasn't obvious

Ahhhhh...I was wondering when Micah would show up.

Here is one of my points if you look at all 4 people that have responded with comments...they are all people that build engines or are somehow have connections or affiliations with a shop...or enjoy pulling their engine out and tearing it down whenever they please.

Listen guys.....take the internet with a grain of salt. I am a guy who lost a few engines when owning my Subaru and find it comical that people are losing engines with brand new cars with minimal mods. That's all.

I am done....lets get back on topic how stu is selling all his 4 bangers.....and getting a gtr.

This a Subaru forum......I expect to get crapped on......for mentioning the lack of reliability ...I accept this.

Subaru can be plenty reliable if built and tuned right. If I push any 300hp engine over 500whp I'm gonna doubt long term reliability. If I want something over 500whp, I'm gonna buy something that fast that has been designed researched built and warrantied

I think its all a matter on how you build it. I always stayed simple, no crazy stuff. The only failure we had was heads lifting. 400-450 on a stock engine with pistons will last a LONG time. We have put TONS of track passes at 500 with ZERO issues. I also am on top of the engine and we data log and have fail safes. From what i see and read alot of people have issues pushing the tunes to get that time. Its not a bad thing we have all done it, but alot of people tend to blame the engine. I have had so much fun on a subaru and dont regret doing it.

Back to Stu. What up son whats good!!!!!!!!!

now we just need jr's opinion

I Won't argue the fact that simple bolt ons gain the most power in an evo.

both Cars need to be built subarus need to be sleeved for 700whp+ it would be smart to do it for even.a 600whp build.

Evo will need the trans built and possibly a few times plus the transfer case lol if you like changing those pita..

I like dsm's love csm's and really wish I still had mine. For the money those cars rip I had $600 into my 89 gt and I kept up with my boy doms 400whp evo. I Will get one again.

Yea but 600whp-650whp on e85 with one or two 1320 passes a year should be fine then switch to a pump map at about 480whp. Like don't daily on your race map.

Haha yeah man I'm back! I've been keeping an eye on the boards making sure nobody beat my pumpgas record lol. I just haven't been posting, I have too many cars I'm like JR I just keep buying and building, I drive my EVO on the street @700whp! Anything more and I get no traction from a 3rd gear hit!

Talk about dragging out the dead. That would be me.

Stuey, I'm confused: WHICH of the two cars above is going to be your race car? The silver one (Georges?) or the gold one. Engine shots don't tell me. I'm clueless.

Thanks and good luck!

George's old car is my street car right now that I decided to talk to JR about and we are going to try and reset the 93oct record in! and Coop the Orange STi weighed 2900 with a driver and I just did a tubular front end so it should be around 2800+lbs now! We're putting the drag motor in the orange car on Monday!
