Default Foam Piece Fell Out of Bumper

Can anyone identify where this piece may go? I noticed it hanging from one of the holes underneath the front bumper, at the driver's side. I can feel a similar piece on the passenger side, and theres foam just like it in the engine compartment, around the radiator and latch area. I want to put it back if I can, as I'm sure it's there for a reason.

The car and the foam are covered with salt, as this was after a big snowstorm we had in February. This is not how I normally maintain my car.

This happened to me as well, I saw a piece of foam sticking out from my front bumper and I pulled it out, thinking it was some debris that got stuck under there or something. Haven't noticed any adverse effects after taking it out, I think you don't have anything to worry about

That happened to me too and I just threw it out. I highly doubt that piece has any type of structural integrity.
