Default P1100 code, start circut. Help please

Car: 98 Lego GT wagon

So I had been getting a O2 Sensor code for bank 1 and a P1507 for awhile (probably due to the bad 02). I changed it out yesterday with a new one. Today I went to drive her and it started stumbling, missing very bad. I checked the ECU with my scanner and it said P1100 starter switch circut malfuntion.

I had a problem earlier this year with it just dying and refusing to start. I had it t owed home and as soon as it got home it fired up. Been fine every since...until today.

What is the P1100 and what does it take to fix it? I have the ground mod done as well as several other grounds installed. It cranks fine and will sometimes fire up, but immediently die. It is not throwing any more cells.

OK coil has 12V going to it all times.

Fuel pressure is good

I removed the factory alarm system and it is still doing it (yes, I plugged all inturupted connectors back together, and spliced the 2 wires back together under the kick plate).

Car still acts exactly the same. Someone has to have some experiance with this. Before it dies out it starts missing and backfiring real bad. Then it dies. Resetting the computer does not help.

OK I changed out the main (Ign) relay with a new one. I also changed the cam and crank sensors with brand new units. Still no start.

OK, so I unplugged the front O2 sensor and it fired right up. Runs perfect. Must have been a bad O2 sensor new.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Wow, i was asleep during this whole ordeal. Seems like you've learned one of the first rules of troubleshooting: if you change something and it no longer works, change that thing back. It's not impossible to have a new part come from the box bad.

And thank YOU for following up on the thread, it's always nice to hear what the solution is.

Yeah the funny thing is, is I have been wrenching for 15 years. I am ASE certified LOL. I just couldn't imagine an O2 sensor causing this much grief. After checking it with the O-scope it had a direct short to ground.

I should have checked it first, but the car was running like crap anyways. I figured it was a coincidence. Live and learn LOL.

On a new note, the new main/ign relay seemed to fix the starter problem of just clicking sometimes. I also installed a few more grounds on the battery.

Now I just need to clean my IAC valve.
