Default 98 rs or 99-01 rs

Which 2.5 rs is better the 98 that has DOHC or the 99-01 that has SOHC? Which one has more parts for it and which one is better?

You want 99-01 SOHC
There are a lot of things in the 00-01 that got worked out to make your life easier from the 98-99s

so if you can, the newer is better rule applies

Post the MY98 has dohc but...

It has the L style front bumper and because of the valve train it loses torque.

Plus the My99-01 have the V5 front end. The my00-01 have a rear diff while the my98-99 have and open rear.

I'd get a My00 because it's the best GC8/6 (only because of price over the My01.)

My two cents, adding to the list, not saying what is better or what I would get.....

99s are less sensitive to CELs

...but the air flow meters are more fragile.

Nope. That'd be the 99 with the fragile hot-film MAF. 98s have a sturdier hot-wire MAF. 00-01 use a MAP sensor.

This stuff has to be have been discussed before, hasn't it?
