Agreed; its about the Baja 100 race; quite amazing how much abuse the vehicles and drivers take and still keep going

Saving that one!

Also, another one that's been on Netflix Instant Streaming that I've been wanting to watch is Yank Tanks. It's about how mechanics in Cuba keep the pre-Fidel American cars that were imported to the island going by cobbling together parts out of all sorts of random stuff. Looks interesting, and I've heard good things about it.

We had cameras following us around filming a documentary about the 24 Hours of Daytona this year. I have no idea when it's coming out, or if will make it in, but it will be something.

I'd include Grand Prix - since all the race footage was actual race footage from the 1966(?) F1 season.

I also have Dust to Glory and Love the Beast - can't say enough good things about them that haven't been said. Awesome.

For comic value, netflix has "once upon a wheel" with Paul Newman...Dated doesn't even begin to describe it, but there are a few good moments. The sequence at the beginning showcasing the guy who always loses at the track had me rolling on the floor.

Horatio's Drive is a Ken Burns documentary about the first transcontinental road trip in a car, lots of history and photos, no screaming V8's or boxer rumble...

I have Speed Tribe in the queue coming next since my friend just set up his projector. Don't know much about it other than it's a montage of Le Mans footage edited to Front242's music.

aaaannnd, here's a montage of race sequences from the movie Le Mans - documentary in the same way Grand Prix is I guess

oh yeah...Two Lane Blacktop! More of an Easy Rider type of film than car documentary, but if you're looking for car movies you need this one. The cast: driver (James Tayler), mechanic (Beech Boy Dennis Wilson), girl, car (55 Chevy - yes it gets a listing in the cast of characters at the end credits!), and a handful others like: old lady, police officer...reeeeaaaal conceptual character study piece...one 1/4 mile at a time kinda thing.
