Default car won't rev past 7k need help..

ok so i have this problem for awhile and i have tried to figure out the problem but nothing helps.

the car revs through the rpms nicely and pulls hard until it hits 7k. once it gets there it seems as tho something pulls it back and it looses power almost like it hits fuel cut or something (there is always a weird burn smell if you hold the gas to long sorta smells like clutch). if you watch the rpms the needle kinda jumps a little but it never goes up no matter how long you hold the gas down, it just stumbles and don't wanna go. i do 3rd gear pulls, if you go down to 2nd or 1st it goes a bit further about 7300 almost like the gear goes by so quick that it took it a little longer to catch. its kinda hard to explain how its doing without being in the car.

here are the things i have tried to fix the problem
1. changed cam sensors
2. changed crank sensor
3. changed plugs
4. checked for boost leaks
5. utec is set at 8k redline (checked several times)
6. turned off launch control and ffs
7. timing belt checked and counted teeth (3 times)

Sounds kinda like speed limiter (boost controlled), though I'm sure that isn't it if it happens in all gears. A log of the usual stuff would be good to have. I'd especially like to know what's happening to boost and AFR's when this happens.

Is this something new or did you change something in your tune or the motor right before it began?

no i havent changed anything. i used to be able to take it to 8k, with no problems. i hadn't drove it for about 2 weeks once so went out to take it for a drive, and that is when i noticed it doing this. here is a log from about 4 months ago.

You have overboost protection on there? what is it set at? and what is your boost when it happens.... might wanna take a log when it happens.... make sure ur not knocking or anything funky....

it does it on any of my low boost or high boost maps. overboost is set at 35. in the above log it was doing it....eveything looks normal tho

Is that AFR narrow band? Something up there. Should be full rich. Do you have a WBO2?

yes that is narrow band reading. yeah i have a wb my afr is 11.1-11.2. i will try to get another log tommorow. when it starts to cut out i dont like to hold it very long, scared it may mess something up. it sucks having to change gears at 7k..

well then post up ur maps and some logs and maybe we can come to a solution... but if you just say "my car does such and such, when i do so and so" we can't really help you.... but from the sounds of it you are hitting some type of limit, or you're knocking... check your plugs, make sure they aren't fouled (maybe misfire is being detected?), so grab ur computer, gas up and take her for a pull or two down the highway or something and post up what you've got.... if we have ur tune to compare to it will help also....

here is my high boost map....i know that my above log shows 190 in the boost where my map shows 185. i raised my boost a little in the in the log above to see if that would help but it didn't...

don't know i never noticed that before...that is the ecu timing. i looked through some older logs and that is the only one that timing jumped that high...i will get some new logs later this afternoon....

So what is being logged where it says AFR? Is it not the factory front o2 sensor?

yes it is reading front 02, i can tell you my front 02 is bad and i was going to change it but when car was tuned the tuner said it was not necessary because it was tuned by there wideband and that it would have no impact on how the car ran . don't know if it is important but i did forget to mention that i'm running sd.

even with a NB O2 sensor you should be reading mega lean.. like 20.33 or something like that when ur completely off the throttle.... and why would you raise the boost if ur having an issue? if anything you should try lowering it... I can say much for ur a/f maps b/c in all honesty I dont know for sure what ur actual a/fs are.... but i'd say your timing map needs some adjustment.... and I might have missed it but can your ecu log knock correction advance or anything like that? This seems really really odd.... b/c everything looks pretty much right....

i would say the problem is right around here in your log:

i would agree this area is the only time it happens at. the utec can log knock (the coloum between load and afr) it will not show how much was corrected when there is a knock event. what seems a little off in the timing map?

well if you were knocking the ECU would (I HOPE) pull timing instead of add it... but it seems like you've got the opposite going on.... I'm not 100% familiar with the timing map on the UTEC tuning software so can u give me the axis values on it? I'll put it in excel and see what It looks like....

but ur knock count stayed at 00 so that is def. throwing me pretty far off.... What is your target boost? and what is the temperature over by you? is it above 90 degrees?

You should check your IAT values as well.... you might be taking in hotter air then u expected and since its summer time... that could be causing some issues....

also is your UTEC reading from the Wideband? or is it reading from the NB?

utec is reading nb...the mod timing is what the utec is running. the other column is what the stock computer thinks it is running. temperature is in low 70's in these logs. it is raining right now so i can't get any new logs today...
