Default I wonder who's car it was?

i bought white 2004 sti from icbc
she was rear-ended with a bit of a front damage
Has a lot of upgrades
Tein Coilovers, big turbo,
Perrin FMIC, Toyo rad, etc, etc
looks to me the guy took good care of this car
and i think it was set up for auto-x
wonder if it used to belong to some one on this board
or some one knows who the previous owner was

well, I know the first owner, he sold his car about 2 years ago. It was ok condition.
I saw with the second owner on the street in richmond before, waved exchanged, he is an asian.

I am pretty sure second owner put up the front mount and other power upgrades. What I have been told he f-up the engine so has to sell it...Make sure you check out the compression and leak down test before you put in on track action.

Wow...that was my old sti!!! Got rear ended last winter by a drunk driver in granville. Feel so sad still. All the parts are less than one year. The car is really low k as well. I still have some of the parts for this car.

Just wanna mention that I didn't F up the engine at all. I'm a mechanic as well, and all the parts and works were done by G5. You can go and ask G5 how well I take care of the car. All the parts are top of the line as well.

The Chop-Shop... Chop Shops Subaru's? You learn something new every day. Did they give you a good deal?

I didn't know garage 5 touched subaru's either (I am guessing G5=garage five)

Glad to hear you were able to find out so much about your car! I bought an STi last year and I am thinking about trying to track down the Previous Owner... maybe I will give it a try through the club.

I think most owners would have no interest in being "tracked down". I certainly wouldn't, unless I sell the car to a friend I have NOTHING to do with it after the sale. If the dude who bought it from me or a dealership I traded it in to started calling with a whole bunch of questions/concerns/complaint etc I would find it extremely annoying.

I would be interested knowing who bought my car after it was written off... but ya after I sold a vehicle the deal is done and no further questions and complaints should happen. I sold my Toyota Truck to a guy on the Island and two years later I was still getting calls from the guy, asking about the alarm, where I got the tire/wheels etc and other dumb questions a little INTERNET search could resolve.

Yup, as much as I am happy to help the Subie community you've got to respect my privacy. I traded my STi in and got a call from the dealership 6 months later where I had the servicing done etc etc...I told them they should have asked those questions when I traded the car in and it was in their hands now. Then the douche dealer had the audacity to say he would pass my contact info along to the new owner in case he had any questions about the aftermarket parts. I told him in no uncertain terms that if he did that not only would I be sending my car back but I would be contacting my lawyer about privacy issues. Never heard from them again.

**That being said, in the case of the car we are talking about here it is a very different situation and I think it would be great for the previous owner to aid the OP if possible with the remaining parts he has.

the chop shop i mentioned deals with bikes
i just happen to know the guys from the time i fixed bikes
also they do cars as well
i think i got a pretty good deal on the rear clip
and yes, absolutely agree with you guys about privacy and such
that's why i didn't ask the chop owner guy for the owner's #
but asked him to pass my # instead.
i bought the car from icbc and surely enough owner has nothing to do with it
i'm a body man and also do all the mechanical work
just was kind of curious about upgrades also thought the previous owner
could be curious about what had happen to his toy
ah well we have figured it out =o)
