Default Audio Newbie needs some help

I considder myself to be a pretty handy guy overal. I'm a wiz inside a PC, I do most of my own car maintenance, but when it comes to car audio, I'm definitely not a pro. I have installed many head units, speakers, and even a CD changer in my cars over the years, but this is my first forray into the world of amps and subs. I picked up a QLOGIC sealed hatch box at Best Buy, and a Kenwood 12" sub, but now I'm looking at this box, wondering how it all fits together. In the end I will be hooking it up to a Kenwood KAC-729S 2 channel amp. I am told that where I only have one sub, I will want to bridge the amp for the best possible sound. I can figure out the wiring schematics, but my biggest source of confusion is the box itself. Inside I found a small thin piece of polyester stuffing, about 1 square foot in area and maybe 1/2" thick, and a several feet of foam "sealing tape", which I presume I will use to get a nice tight seal around the sub. I was told that on a sealed box, the tighter the seal, the cleaner the bass will sound. What am I supposed to do with the bit of stuffing I found rolled up in the box? I'm also curious as to what will be the best way to route the power and signal cables from my head unit back in to the trunk where my amp will be installed. I was always lead to believe that it's best to run the power and signal cables as far apart from eachother as possible, to minimize interference and cross talk. My though was to run the signal cable down own side of the transmission hump, and the power down other side. And finally, where's the best place for a ground connection for my amp? I was hoing that any good sized bare patch of metal in the trunk would suffice, or is it best to run a dedicated ground wire all the way back to the negative terminal of the battery?
I guess I just need some basic tips to get my installation started, or perhaps a website that might assist me in my latest endeavor. Any and all help/suggestions would be MOST thoroughly appreciated.
Thanks in advance...

Its the blue one

that white stuffing is polyfill. u just leave that in the box with the sub.

as for the wiring goes, u are right. power and signal should be as far apart as possible. i ran the power down the driver side of the car and the rca's on the passenger side.

as for ground, u want it as short as possible, so anywhere in the trunk where its metal chassis or metal to metal is good.

hope that helps u out
