Default ??n EJ22 in a FWD 4EAT temporarily? Will it work???

Hi! I have tons of mileage on my EJ18 w/FWD, let's just say I broke the motor...I want to do a high power engine swap along with AWD but, I am enduring my last month in the Marine Corps. So, I am in no shape to make any payments... Can I bolt an EJ22 up(w/FWD), then put AWD in later this year?

Thanks,
Maximus!!

i'm pretty sure you can but why not just sell the FWD one and get a AWD model? how much would a FWD to AWD conversion cost?
