Default Best radar detector $400 and under?

Hi guys, it's just like the title says, I'm looking for the best radar detector costing $400 or preferably less. Advice on what to avoid or proper usage is welcome too. Thanks in advance!

the passport 8500 or the new model. saved my a$$ more than a few times. plus it has mute on the lighter adapter so you can turn the display off if you want at night.

There are plenty of existing radar detector discussions on both this site and the general internet. No need to start another thread to repeat the same stuff.
