Default 2.5 L = bored and stroked 2.2 L

ok so I posted this in the N/A forum but someone told me to try it here... so here goes again......

The engine blocks and internals of the 2.5 and 2.2 are basically the same from what I gather... Correct me if I'm wrong... If I wanted to put a 2.5 in my 2.2 would I not be better off just boring and stroking my existing block? More cost efficient right?

and another thing... is the 2.2 and 2.5 transmission the same or are the gear ratios different?

I don't see how this belongs in a turbocharging forum, guess the N/A guys are getting lazy.

Anyway, I think the EJ series of motors all come from essentially the same block, but I'm not sure, so you might be able to get away with boring and stroking the block. It might be better to just get a new phase II motor in the long run.

Does anyone know if the 2.5l heads flow better than the 2.2?

Also, the ratios are probably different.

Yes, crossposting == bad. And this isn't an FI topic.

BTW, get a 2.5 block and just drop it in... save you tons of hassle.
