Default Ran my 05 STi this weekend... First time trying Launch Control

I had some free time and took the car out to the track. I loaded a Launch Control map this time but set the Flat-Foot shifting at 6,500 as I didn't want to use it. It takes a bit or getting used to as if I just dump it, it'll spin all four tires. Mods are COBB TBE and AP stage 2 tune, some suspension, stock and completely bald/worn tires at 30k miles.

I was pretty consistant, although had I not hit the rev limiter in first gear on my last run, it would have probably been my best. The temps cooled off an it ran through first a little quicker than I was ready for. My best run was:

60' - 1.8

1/8 - 8.40 @ 82.3 mph

Here are the videos we got:

I can't wait to add the 20g and E85. I'll have to make the 3hr trip to KC just to run it down the 1/4.
I knocked just shy of half a second off my outing earlier this year, so I'm pretty happy overall. I really wish I would have broken into 8.3's since I was very close. Now time for my 20g, E85 and a clutch!

Not bad man!

Pretty nice set up.
Although with some tires, you may be able to lower your 60' times. That could get you the 8.3

I thought the Cobra was going to give me more of a fight since the guy was wearing a helmet. I was happy to hand the kid in the GT his butt as he had his hat turned sideways looking 'gangsta'... And we're in Nebraska.

With the stock clutch and the power level you're at was where my best 60ft. times came from, fairly consistent 1.6x - 1.7x. That was with rock hard $50 over the internet tire specials, no launch control, no ffs. There was a trick, don't dump the clutch but let it out quickly. Think of stepping on a fresh pile of dog $hit bare foot, let the clutch out quickly but no dump. Now with another 200ft/lb and 100+hp, aftermarket clutch that works like a light switch, I can only dream of a 1.6 60ft'er.

As the weather changed from hot humid summer nights to early fall wear a jacket nights my times went from 8.3x to 8 flat.

Do the e85, you'll like it.

I've already got the injectors, rails, pump and turbo. They'll be a winter project as the car sits anyway. I'm coming from a car you just can't launch, so for me to do a 1.8, it feels great. With better tires and more power, I would hope 1.6 wouldn't be too difficult. As far as I know, 1.6 is a little far fetched for a basic Stage 2 setup.

My best 60 without LC was 2.0.

Don't really need the fuel rails, not yet anyway. What pump and injectors?

If you had a blower like Josh it wouldn't matter if you couldn't get off the line.

Haven't put any other slips on photobucket yet but here's two 1.70 60ft'ers @ what people like to call stg2.

You do when you want to run top feed injectors on a 2005

What type of "stage 2" tune did you have? What were the track conditions and altitude?

Aha, guess so. Why top feed? Been looking @ these for the next upgrade, http://t1racedevelopment.com/en/prod...00/subaru.html Have found the injectors considerably cheaper elsewhere but seem to have lost the link. Word on their performance is very good. All ready changed the tgv's?

Wasn't it Josh that had a blower on his sho?

See, I'm just running a COBB OTS. I'm not worried about tuning until I get the E85 and 20g installed.
