Default Winter gas

Does anyone know when the gas stations switch to winter gas?

Three weeks ago my truck suddenly dropped 2 to 3 mpg on average for no reason.

I'm trying to upgrade from driver to enthusiast.

What is the difference between winter gas and summer gas?

Winter blend has a higher concentration of methanol. Has to do with EPA regulations on how gasoline evaporates or something like that.

If you look at the gas pump there usually is a paragraph saying how the gasoline contains 15 percent (not sure if that's the right number) methanol in the winter.

Hm. I will look for said label. I wonder how that ties in to Arizona gas compared to American non AZ gas, which by all accounts is about as good as gas you would buy in Rwanda.

I'm just finding that since my last mods and repairs I need to run premium AZ instead of plus or I get a little bit of breakup from about 4700 on up. I didn't have that problem with San Diego plus.
