Default 9.7@142MPH! 2.5L w/ Twin Scroll 40R Tuned by COBB Tuning Surgeline- Now with video!

*UPDATE* *UPDATE* Matt went out tonight (10/27/10) and ran a 9.7@142MPH besting his previous [email protected]! Will get a photo of the new time slip up soon! Video on Post #50!

Our good friend and customer Matt Kincaid has reached his goal for a 9 second pass in his 2002 WRX! This car still has full glass, power windows/door locks and door panels. On top of that he refuses to go with an automatic transmission. 6MT or nothing!

There's still a lot of head room and we plan on taking full advantage on what's left. Stay tuned for what happens with this car next year

Strong car! Congrats. Not a bad looking curve considering the turbo size.

this car is fast! Matt has worked very hard on making this thing fast, clean, and capable. Props to the guys at Surgeline for their work on this beast. I think he has some mid-9 second runs there somewhere.

Congrats on the run! But the power seems kind of low for the turbo size and psi you guys are running. Compared to other recent threads on power bragging.

Thank you everyone for there compliments. The car is super fast and is a handful to drive. I think there is a bit more we can squeeze out of this setup. I have been very pleased with the 4094 as it is alot more street able then i ever thought. I will see if we can get some engine bay photo's up.
Thats what i love about the 1320 is it doesnt matter what your dyno numbers said, the track will tell you if its fast or not. So much information is in that one little time slip, if you no what to look for.

Congrats! That is superfast!!
Quality powergraph from Cobb too, very clear to read: thanks for putting time into that!

What turbine size did you go with?

It seems the hp curve is still climbing? Is more rpm --> power gainable in the upper rpm range? I would not know how, but looking at the graph, I get that 'feeling' somehow.

To anwser some of your questions, the turbo is a 4094. It is a 40 with a 42 wheel shoved into it. Yes this car is still on stock sleeves, and is the main reason why we left it at its current power level. As you can see from the graph we are just starting to get into its sweet spot, but we will leave some on the table for next year and the sleeved motors that are being built for it.
Whats great about this motor is that is very much a mild setup, Cossie heads with cossie cams. A street setup, diff not a drag race motor by any means. The Tires are Hossier QTP with lightweight TE37 volk racing wheels. Thanks agin for your interest.

^^^Well working with ACT on a new MAx Extreme clutch. It has a max extreme pressure plate(same as evo's i think) with a new disc material. The clutch is holding out great and is very consistant. Pedal feel is very good but would not recommend for daily driving unless you dont mind a challenge, disc is a little chattery when cold but once warmed up it performs perfect. I had the hd with 6 puck unsprung but when we hit the 580-600whp mark from a mustang dyno it would not hold the launch at the track, so ACT agreed to help us with a sponsership/prototype clutch that has been great. THANKS TO ACT for building a superior product for us subie guys.
