Default 2017 Subaru Impreza base model sedan TOW HOOK LICENSE PLATE?

Hey guys. Been checking around the forum but no one has seemed to come up with an answer. Received my 2017 Impreza base model sedan and I will need to install my plates in a few weeks. There are no holes in the center like the previous wrx. Would love to know if anyone has tried the grimmspeed, Perrin, or extreme parts tow hook license plate holder from any other previous models (wrx or Sti). No aftermarket parts are out that officially state that it fits the 2017 Impreza sedans. I found a post with someone trying the same with the sport model but came up empty as far as answers. I will definitely buy one of the older brackets to see if they fit well enough and keep everyone posted if I can't get any answers here. Thanks!

You found a thread asking the same thing so you decided to make your own?

No one is going to be marketing anything to your car for a while. The older ones should work. You can take your tow hook out from by the spare tire and measure it and find the thread pitch to confirm.

I emailed Grimmspeed a few weeks ago. They updated the case this week. They have a "non-turbo 17+ impreza" toe hook plate and verified the fitment with a picture of one on a test fitter's ride.

Art at GS just told me that the '17 BRZ holder fits the '17 Impreza. They'll be updating the site shortly probably.

Just checked... http://www.grimmspeed.com/license-plate-relocation-kit-2013-subaru-brz-scion-fr-s-2010-legacy-outback-2017-impreza-non-turbo/

Yep. Here's the proof on my '17 that it works.

KC, that's the '17 Sport trim, correct? I, unfortunately, also live in a state where the front license plate is required. Before I buy the GS license plate kit for my Sport, what are the benefits of mounting the plate at the toe hook location? IMO, it looks better when it's centered in front of the car, but will it block some of the air intake or other components? Just wanted to justify spending $80 to mount the front plate. Thanks

MA is also a mandatory state. I got pulled over Sunday without it. Best thing is, you have 7 days to inspect, and was still within the 7, so I got a "have a nice day". (My previous car never had a front plate and never got pulled, so I found it funny that 4 days after getting this car, I get pulled.)

Yes, it's a '17 Sport, and as you can see, it blocks absolutely nothing. Other benefit is that there are no screw holes in the bumper. The front mounting position would only allow for 2 screws, and it would hang a bit lower covering the front (but really, it won't matter if it were mounted in the middle, there's plenty of airflow). I just like it on the side.

you guys are amazing! Heads up! I bought a 2015-2017 STI-WRX PERRIN tow hook bracket and the stem was WAY TOO SMALL!! It says on the application part of Perrin's site for the part that it fits 2017 impreza but it does not! I am so bummed out I lost 80 bucks. Ordering the GS one now!! Thank you!!!!! My temporary plate is expiring tomorrow and I am gonna be saved thanks to you guys!

Here is the Perrin one bought from Amazon (compared to base model 2017 impreza sedan tow hook). Again... DOES NOT FIT. Buy the Grimmspeed one!

Man, I really want to move my plate over but $80 for the Grimmspeed kit? Maybe I'll just see how long I can go without a front plate for....(in CT)
