Default forester xt swap?

I'm having a little trouble googleing info on this from my phone. But I was wondering if I was going to swap an 04 or 05 forester xt motor into my 05 wrx mt, what all would I need? I'm looking to start my purchase with a forester xt long block which from what I understand from some reading is fairly similar to an sti block with a few differences.

What all would I need to make this a successful swap? I know pulling the motor and dropping in the fxt is fairly simple, but getting it to run properly is a whole different story lol. will I need the forester ecu, different fuel pump ect?

Yes a new ECU, as the 04-05FXT have AVCS and the engine is very similar to an 04-05STi motor. This could mean some additional wiring too, since it has additional functionality, or a new harness.

The pump is good maintenance and needed as you go to a larger turbo anyways.

you could drop the 2.5 head use your 2.0 heads.
sell the the 2.5 heads to help reimburse you for
your troubles. and then you would not have any electrical,
sensor issues.,,this what we call a 2.0/2.5 hybrid.
