![]() So figured it was time to put all this down before I forget it all !!!!
bought the wagon brand new in September 2001 and it started it's life as a Gx 2.0l auto. My wife is from Tokyo so I get to go to Japan quite a lot and first trip there after I got it I started to get parts - 10 years on it hasn't stopped !!!! It went through numerous incarnations to get to this point where I'm close to having it to the specs I've always wanted. spec data Engine: V7 STI jdm engine with big port heads and Vf30 V7 Jdm STI ecu tuned by MSR JDM STI spec c dinted top mount Full Jdm V8 STI loom swap inc waterspray Walbro fuel pump with Spec C fuel surge chamber HKS oil cooler Zero Sports intake pipe, radiator plate and splitter Greedy radiator S203 Titanium rear muffler SS 3" dump and mid exhaust Beatrush engine mounts Beatrush engine tray Drive Train: V8 spec c dccd 6 speed V8 spec c R180 plated rear diff and driveshafts F&R DCCD Pro controler Suspension: Ohlins Coilovers STI Titanium front strut brace and STI rear wagon strut brace STI alloy front control arms with Zero Sports roll Centre adjusters Rear Alloy STI lateral links and STI pink trailing arms Carbing full front brace 'U-brace replace' Stock STI front sway bar with Flatt Racing links Rear Cusco sway bar with whiteline links Paranoid Fab front fender bars STI spec c 13:1 quick rack Brakes: Brembos front and rear DBA 5000 discs front and stock Brembo discs rear Prova style front brake ducts Wheels: DD - Rays Volk Ce28 17 x 8 +44 Track - BBS Spec c option wheels 17 x 7.5 +53 Exterior: Front sedan fenders Rear sedan 1/4 conversion (covered later in this thread) STI Prodrive edition front bar and Grill Spec c roof vent Sti Hid headlights with working leveler Interior: Full V7 JDM STI wagon front, rear seats and door cards Recaro SPG bucket for track STI V8 steering Wheel STI V7 cluster Aus version - 260 Km/H Defi gauges - Boost, Oil Pressure & Temp, Water Temp Road Tuned by Michael South netting 190Kw atw So I have a batch of parts that I have here and I'm planning on instaling after Christmas once the bank account recovers from the rear sedan 1/4 conversion. Greedy T518z S202 STI red silicone Intake KillerBee sump/pick up & Baffle Kando EL headers new DCCD Pro latest version and V7 Spec c jdm cluster with dccd lights Install then back to MSR for final retune. thats enough for now so some pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() OK so here we go with the rear sedan conversion.
It had been on my mind for about 6 years, ever since I put the front sedan fenders on and always thought it looked good but definitely wasn't complete. the IAG thread and Cribbie (thanks mate) were a big inspiration to me and made me bite the bullet and finally get round to doing it. So as far as the actual job went it took about 8 weeks - was a cash job so it wasn't the highest priority at the shop but want to say a big thanks to Shane at A & J Smash for the effort he put into it. Right from the start he said he wanted to make it look like it came from the factory like that. And apart from 1 small issue it is spot on. We went the route of cutting the 1/4's as opposed to welding over as we decided it would end up stronger and look better. So I amassed the parts - rear sedan 1/4's & rear sedan doors - doesn't seem like much but it's definitely not a small job. All cuts were done as close to the Subaru specified panel cuts where possible and replaced as per stock. A few issues 1. need to swap the rear sedan door glass for wagon glass as it's a taller window for the wagon roof line. 2. Rear Bar Issue - this we hadn't heard anything about - the rear sedan 1/4 is longer than the wagon so when the rear bumper was put back on it hung out into the wheel arch about 1/2 inch. we had to cut and mold the rear bumper to fit correctly - this has resulted in a not 100% perfect arc on the wheel well - I have another bumper and in the new year we will look at some better way of cutting to ensure the arc remains constant. anyway here's some pics of the journey - I'm sure I'll remember more and add as needed. any questions etc if your planning this yourself just shoot me a PM. marked for cutting ![]() first 1/4 mocked up ![]() welded and smoothed ![]() RHS primed ![]() Fuel side inplace ![]() tacked on ![]() bogged ![]() inside door ![]() fuel side primed ![]() painted ![]() Last edited by And70; 12-09-2010 at 01:17 AM. |

![]() yeah oil cooler is in the right fog light, if you look at the pic on the track I have a spare Prodrive fog cover that has been cut out with a mesh insert for track use.
For daily drive I keep the standard cover on as it takes long enough to warm up with the full cover on as it is ;-) ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by And70; 11-22-2010 at 09:16 PM. |
