Default Offset Confusion

I am in the market for some wheels. I got a sweet deal on a set of 16"X7" Motegi's. They are in good shape and all. The real worry is the low offset.

I have a 07 2.5i sedan. Got it about 4 months ago and is bone stock. I am running 205/55 R16 tires. The stock offset is +55. These wheels are +35. So my question is...that's one heck of a difference..Is it recommended for a 16" wheel...

Just trying to see if anybody has done that...I have agreed upon a deal but not bought the Rims yet...I am just trying to see if it is a good idea..for wheel bearings and scrub radius...
