Default 2001 Toyota MR-S convertible--------SOLD

SOLD 6/30/2011

No, the subies aren't for sale.....

I have a blue toyota MR-S that I bought as a theft recovery and would like to sell it to someone who will get a kick out of driving it.

It was missing the steering wheel and rims and windshield wipers.

It has 94,xxx miles and runs and drives well. It's got a reconstructed title and is already licensed for the next two years.

It was missing the steering wheel and rims:

Here it is being unloaded- before any wash:

Only looking to recoup what I've spent: $5000 SOLD
Found some other day light pics:

And here is an interior shot when I first got it:

SOLD 6/30/2011

It's too slow and has no torque, and I don't want to spend the money to do a honda k20 or k24 swap....

The two bigest things are it needs an alignment- I had to replace several bits becuase of being moved around on a fork lift at the auction, and there is a cold idle issue that I have to take it in to have it looked at. It drives great once it's warmed up- but still something I need to take care of....

The previous owner had an NRG aftermarket steering wheel and I bought a new suede NRG sterring wheel that turned out to be a little small so you it blocks part of the guage cluster and I haven't wired up the horn, The headlight plastic needs a good polishing both headlights are oxidized, the eject button on the cd player is jammed in too far but the radio works, there are very minor scratches here and there but over all the paint is really good, the roof is still good- but does show it's age but it still seals and there are no cuts or any damage, and finally the underside is a little beat up from being moved around the auction yard on a fork lift- but that's all I can think of...

It's a 5-speed manual and I believe it has a short shifter and a carbon fiber nrg shifter.

Oh, and the car has a monkey wrench exhuast manifold connected to the oem muffler....

I just went outside and tried taking some more pics in the dark- I work all sunlight hours and won't be able to take day shots until the weekend after next so I apologize for the dark pics:

I drove this car in its exact current condition for a week just to change things up a bit from the STI.

It runs, and it's fun.

If you like the price, buy it! It is as advertised.

Thanks! The cheapest I've seen them go for around here is 7500k- and I test drove it and after- when trying to negotiate price- I found out it had a branded title and the dealership "didn't know" why. And they wouldn't budge on price and said they were selling it so cheap becuase of that....

Bump for a fun car!

I used to own one of these and the nice thing is that the 1zz engine in them is also in the Corolla and thus is super reliable and easy to maintain. The bad part is as mentioned by the OP, it's sloowwww, no matter how many bolt ons you throw at it.

But yeah, autocross is a blast because they're crazy tight on corners.

You could keep it at my place! We could even move the landlord's V6 66 mustang over a spot in the garage and park it in there! Or I have tons of room outside!

Now about the $5k..... Bank, cc, credit union... You should just be able to get a credit line for about/under $5k.... I just checked CL and the cheapest one is $7k- most others are 8k-10k....
