Post The 2.5RS still has that magic

Hey all,

I remember reading here a while back and someone was claiming that no one was looking at their car anymore. I just have to say that the beast still has it. I have a stock looking Aspen White sedan and in the last two weeks, a BMW driver washing his car stopped to admire mine, a pickup driver honked at me at a light and asked me about my car, and today, a guy in front of me opened his car door and thumbs-upped me and said "Awesome car!" Of course, he made me miss my light, but oh well.

Take heart <=2001 2.5RS owners. I still think our car at least LOOKS way cooler than the WRXs. It's still a blast to drive. I didn't realize it was good looking until the day after I bought it.

Have fun!

Yup, as I was taking my vents out fresh from a car wash, someone walked a full 50 feet to me and asked about my car! Hehehe...

I got four guys in a lowered Civic staring, and as the cut me off (...okay, whatever guys) the passenger yells out the window

"Cool car dude!"

I have yet to hear someone in a WRX have that happen to them.

Any WRX owners getting the guys and girls drooling over your car yet? Do tell...

I still get looks. Most of the time...I get looks from ricers that wanna race but are too afraid. I guess it's because of my exhaust .

I think the pre-redesign Impreza will always get more looks and thumbs-up, because it's still a sleeper; no commercials, no print ads, just the fan base to keep it going. The WRX has a reputation already, so many people will make their opinion of the car before they see one in the flesh. I get more responses to the color of my car than the looks anyway...she's real purty.

I can't help staring at my car. I find myself looking it up and down almost every time I walk up to it, or away from turning my head around. I get an eye-full any chance I can. I'm a little worried about myself.

And the response from others... When you tell them it comes looking that way stock, nobody believes it.

Last weekend I was out cruising the local spot and pulled into a car wash. There was a tubbed out 50's corvette, a 67' olds with a 440, a drag nova (with license plates -ha)and not one ricer.

When I got out a few guys turned around. I thought, boy I am so out classed. But then one says to me - hey is that the WRX? I said no(my99). He says, boy that looks mean, can I get a ride? Another turns and says - geez how can you beat 25 mpg and all wheel drive.

Love it.

I still fall in love with my car every time I drive it...the feeling of acceleration, the way it just grabs the road in the corners, the distinctive sound of the boxer exhaling through my stromung....mmm, gotta love the the RS...I still like mine better than the WRX, it may have a turbo which I dont, but I have style......especially with my morrettes...
Long live the GC8 Impreza RS!

I love the way my car looks. And so do alot of people that come to my shop. The pre my02 RS's look insane even when they are right out the dealership. I always get the "is that the turbo one?" Grrr. But like everyone says...compliments galore. Though the other day I has some retard in an Explorer point at my car, give me a thumbs down and start laughin. And Im thinkin to myself...what the hell is he laughin at??? HEs driving a friggin explorer. Oh welll...cant please em all I guess.

I get tons of people looking at my WRX and pointing and staring and asking me what it is, etc...

But that also happened with my '98 OBS...

But my WRX gets a slight edge on the ooh..aah quotient.

All Imprezas get noticed, must be the hood scoop!
