Paint shop in Sacramento?
Anyone know a good paint shop in the Sacramento area to have side skirts painted?

According to Chris Jones
Chris Jones, another member, said Bertolucci's is "the best darn body shop in Sac" so I'm taking my side skirts to them on Tuesday. Their number is 454-4433. Ask for Terry Rogers, and tell him Chris A. sent you.
Maybe if I tell him you're coming, he'll give us both a good deal. ~Chris |

I am wondering the same thing. If you know of a place, mention how much it can be done for

He quoted me $125 for now. I said okay cause it seems like a quality shop--not a hole-in-the-wall type of place.
How 'bout I talk to him when I take my skirts in on tuesday and get back to you guys (or anyone else who wants to go there) maybe with a new price? Sound good? I'll let y'all know... Chris |

Yeah that sounds good. There is a shop in Redwood city (bay area) where a couple of guys got theirs done for $80, and I think they were happy with them for the most part. From what they said, it was pretty much a hole in the wall place.
Let me know about the place in Sac ASAP... I actually am going to be around Redwood city next week and was planning on having my skirts painted their, although I am not yet too confident in that place. $80 skirts thread Jonathan Last edited by ilmaestro; 07-07-2002 at 06:57 PM. |

Yeah, I heard about that 80-dollar place. I would probably do it there myself, but I don't plan on being anywhere near that area any time soon. Anyway, I'll let you all know what I find out from Terry. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow.
Chris P.S. If you guys want first-hand testimonials, I suggest emailing Chris Jones since he had his done at Bertolucci's. |

Re: According to Chris Jones
gah, I have had nothing but problems with Bertolucci. I had 2 cars fixed there and both of them never came out right, even after taking them both back several times. I had a 95 Eclipse GSX that got blasted from behind, they tried to bend back the suspension parts (or whoever they send it out to do it) and never even replaced them with new parts. After I saw that, I took it to another shop and paid the money to have it redone correctly. I could never get them to fix anything right.
thats just my $0.02 tho.. Quote:

I've heard that Bertolucci's is a good shop also. My friend is waiting to get his Audi S4 back from them for some front end damage. I've heard they mostly work on high end cars like Porsches and Ferraris. I would think they would do a good job on the side skirts. I'll wait to see what happens with AWDconvert. Let us know how it works out for you. I think $125 is still a fair price for quality work.

Hmmm...
Good to know, Max. Thanks for the input. I'll contact Chris and find out how good his paint job is. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Having been a resident of Sacramento for 20 years, those of us who had muscle cars to renovate and beautify went to Kniesels on Sunrise Blvd. in Citrus Heights. Check them out, they might a worthwhile choice over Bertoluccis.

AWD Convert,
I think Bertolucci's will do a good job for you. How can they screw it up? If you get them back and you don't like them, you can make them paint it over. By the way, how hard was it to get the side skirts off? |

YOu're right
dub,
Yeah, I'll take mine there. They're just side skirts! Plus, Chris Jones just emailed and confirmed that he's very happy with their work. His family also took a van there for some work and he says they did great on that. So, again, I'll let y'all know if I can get a good price for anyone interested. Oh, they were hella easy to take off. Took me 20 minutes--and only because I'm so anal. Email me if you want me to explain how to do it. But if you just look underneath and at the front wheel well, you'll figure it out. It's cake. Chris |

Dropped them off
So I went and dropped off my skirts and told him about the possibility of a group deal. He didn't give a price but he suggested I wait till mine are done, then I can show/tell you guys how I like it, then we can talk about a group deal. But he's totally interested. Let me know how many of you guys are interested and I'll talk to him again.
Hope this helps. Chris |

AWD Convert: I am still interested but there is a chance I will just try out that $80 place in a few days. See if you can get a GB or lower price quote when you pick up your skirts.
