Default porsche 914 with ej22 engine management

so i have an '94 ej22 dual port exhaust. trying to figure out how to run the sucker. i've had suggestions to use haltech, ems stinger, but those run 1k+. so far the cheapest option has been to use Megasquirt, but i have no experience with it. if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great. or info on the megasquirt system such as which version to use? 1 or 2? what i will need? how to wire the sucker up. i'd prefer not to deal with modifying the stock harness.

There is nothing to fear about cutting down the stock harness. There are a few, well known, places to go to.

outfront motors - also has most of the ecus you listed

Smallcar - bring BIG $$

http://www.kennedyeng.com/ = has a do it your self setup. Iv done 3 that way. worked great.

Iv also used the Stinger ecu. Not a big fan because of the lack of knock sensor.
good luck jcl
