Default Nismo Prepped Nissan GT-R RC

Quote:
Nissan used this weekend’s 2011 Tokyo Salon to roll out a new edition of its GT-R supercar, one aimed at well-heeled track enthusiasts and privateer race teams. If you’re unfamiliar with the Auto Salon, it's essentially the Japanese version of SEMA and manages to draw in the major automakers as well as the big name tuning companies each year.

As for the new GT-R model, dubbed the GT-R RC (Racing Competition), it was developed by Nissan’s official in-house tuner and motorsport arm Nismo specifically for track use. It features slick tire-compatible suspension, lightweight components and special safety equipment and devices.

These include a welded roll cage that meets the FIA standard, a 120 liter safety fuel tank made by ATL and air jacks.

The GT-R RC will be able to compete in various production races held around the world and officially goes on sale, in Japan only for now, in the coming months.

Also on show was a Nismo-enhanced Nissan 370Z, which is available in the U.S., as well as a Nissan Leaf electric car dressed up in a bodykit and a Juke crossover packed with several sporty accessories. For more details, check out our previous post by clicking here.

No fangs on the NISMO 370Z? Much success!

Mmm that's some nice negative camber on the front wheels of the GT-R RC in the top photo. Looks like someone wants the car to rotate.

Boo, they totally ripped that off from the Toyota Celica GT-Four RC

Maybe I'm biased?
