1993 Legacy

Default Automatic seatbelt is sticking

Hey everyone. I have a 1993 Legacy with stupid automatic seatbelts. Recently the driver side belt has been acting up, but still moving up the track and locking. The other day it decided to completly stop working, and it's stuck in the off position. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or if it could have been a recall? If so, what do I need to do to fix it? I searched and couldn't find anything. This is my first car with automatic belts. Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest checking out the Legacy central bbs for a lot of info on the first gen legacy.

As for the specific seat belt issue, is the seat belt light in the dash blinking? If so, here's the diagnostic procedure to get the codes and determine what the specific fault is.

Also, here's the wiring diagrams

There is an allen wrench in the center console and a cap that pops off in the lower B-pillar trim that allows you to crank the seat belts manually so you can at least use the seat belt, even if it doesn't move.
