Default 2010 WRX + Koni Inserts + Stock Springs?

I live in an area with some of the worst roads in the country. Massive potholes, uneven pavement, etc. The current stock setup is, to say the least, unsuited for dealing with these roads. It smashes and crashes over the big bumps/potholes and wallows over the uneven roads...kind of like the worst of all worlds.

I'm wondering if anyone with experience can tell me if the Koni inserts with stock springs actually soak up these problem roads better than the stock setup. Would I be looking at a harsher ride, or would the more capable struts/shocks actually make for a better ride over these nasty areas.

I've searched the threads and have not really been able to find a clear answer, although it appears that on full soft the harshness of Konis is minimal. Most people however, seem to use aftermarket springs with their Konis.

Thanks for any help.

Search for posts by 09rexwagon, he had that setup and seemed very happy with it. But he was focused on auto-x setup.

doesn't really apply to 08+ but I had konis with stock wrx wagon springs for awhile and I liked it alot. perfect for a DD. on soft it was like stock but better, and you could tighten things down by turning the knobs up to around 1 full turn.
