Question Prodrive's new Project

I was reading a magazine article from a UK publication I get and there was a big article on Prodrive and some of the projects they are working on. I read down and expected to see a Subaru mentioned, but it was all about Saabs! Evidently the all wheel drive turbo Saab Viggen scheduled to be on the market next year is a joint project between Saab, Prodrive and Todd Walkinshaw Racing. The car they are working on has a Prodrive engineered powertrain, brakes, transmission, and other bits from the UK Subaru lineup. Since GM has a relationship with FHI and with Saab, maybe this is the commonality that brought them together?

The thing is, I had no idea Prodrive worked with anyone else but Subaru!

Prodrive works with a lot of manufacturers. IIRC, they were the ones who made the Ford Mondeo Touring cars in the BTCC a few years ago, which enabled Alan Menu to win the Championship. I think they also had something to do with the Honda Accord in the BTCC, with James Thompson at the wheel, but I could be wrong.

Yes, they've worked with BMW, Alfa Romeo, Honda, and Ford. I don't know if there may be others as well.

The Honda factory Accords were prepped by West Surrey Racing

Don't forget that Prodrive also ran the Benetton F1 team for a few years.

prodrive is not a subaru company....

they are hired by subaru to work/build the cars... they build tons of stuff for tons of other car manufacturers.
