Default Help, what is this wire near fuse box for.

The above image i just found online so please ignore the red arrow. My question is in the blue wire harness in the upper right corner. There is a red wire that comes out of it. Unfortunately, my wire is broken almost as if it is cut in two. What is this wire for? How would I go about repairing it? Thanks for the advice. MY car is a 04 WRX if that helps.

No idea, but what happens when you add that relay?

The relay has nothing to do with my question. However I beleive from what I read where I got the picture the relay was for fog lights. My question is what is the red wire for in the top right blue wire harness.

I got bored last night, pulled out the Subaru Wiring Manual and started to investigate this.

This will take some doing because they don't list the actual connector and every circuit in it's entirety. Meaning, you have to go through each page, see if you see the connector listed at the bottom, and then trace the circuit listed on that page.

Relays (top down, excluding the red colored relay that is a factory add-on):
Accessory plug (wagon) / Heated seats
Heated outside mirrors
Heated glass
Fog lamps
Windows / Sunroof
Ignition

He is not actually asking about the relays you can add, but what the red wire of the top right blue connector is for.

In the FSM these 2 positions are mentioned nowhere.
All schematics show the 2 sockets, but they are not numbered/denounced anywhere I can see.

They do mention 2 blue plugs going to the F/B , one being 12 pins, the other being 8 pins.
Maybe these are the ones, they are numbered B51 for the 8 pin one, and B152/B271 for the 12 pin ones.
Howeverm on the diagram where the F/B is mentioned, they only number all individual fuses, not the 2 plugs, so I am not sure these are the right ones (I am thinking it must be, as they are the only blue plugs mentioned anywhere in the power distribution paragraph of the FSM.

However, the only wire connected to that connector has no colour info, and seems to be connected to another pin on the 3rd blue plug they mention AND to a pin on the 12 pole plug.So it probably is for a non-installed factory option. (But i am not sure about this tbh)

B51 is mentioned as going to the F/B, and being part of the bulkhead harness, so the B51 (8pin plug) is the one you are looking for.
Howver, as I have the FSM as seperate PDF's I can't do a text search for B51.

Yes, I was aware of that.

I posted the relay positions just because I could.
