Default tapping the manifold for EGT guage = dead warranty?

i'm getting an EGT guage installed soon. tapping into either cylinder #1 or #3. the car is leased but i plan to buy out in 4 years. will the dealer mind if i do this?

since my catless uppipe is not plainly visible, this will be the only mod that's visible and can not be removed for dealership visits.

asking/having my dealership install the EGT guage is not an option being that they are about 75 miles away from my home.

Seriously, is the only dealership 75miles away? Wow, I thought I had it bad with 2 dealers within 25 miles from me (like 40 miles from each other), and the rest way out there.

I wonder if the dealer would even do this for you.. hmm. Isn't there like a connection you can use on your up-pipe?

They could try all they want, but they will have a HELL of a time legally voiding a warranty over passive engine monitoring equipment.

Just my $.02
