Default 2016 WRX - Bluetooth Audio?

so I've used the Bluetooth audio connection previously to play spotify from my phone with no issues. Yesterday, it pairs, but nothing will play from my phone. I've tried reconnecting the phone. Shutting the phone off and turning back on. Still no connection.

Has this happened to anyone else and are any suggestions? Thanks.

the only time I've had issues is if I turn on spotify after I turn the car on. But in those instances I just need to turn off bluetooth on the phone and then turn it back on. when the HU reconnects everything works again.

I've had a few instances where I've had to delete from phone from the HU and then re-pair it before it would allow me to listen to any bluetooth music. This happened a couple times when I've had multiple phones paired to the HU (the HU can take up to 7 or 8 or something)
I thought it was just an odd occurrence.. Then it happened again.
I un-paired my wifes phone and it has connected flawlessly since then.

I never thought much of it.. but then my friend (who has a 2017 Legacy) had the same issue.

I had this happen once. I went to look at the Bluetooth options on my phone and it said it was connected for calls only. I changed it to connect for calls and media and it worked fine.
