Default Will it be pointless to autocross in winter tires (during the summer)

My summer tires are in a different city and I can't currently get them. This means that I am still on my Dunlop SP Wintersport 3D tires. I've never done any kind of racing before, and was hoping to try an autocross this upcoming weekend. How bad is it going to be with these tires? Am I going to ruin them with just a couple runs?

Yes, they will take a beating. Winter tires have a very soft compound made to work well in a cold climate. Not only will they hate life at an autocross, but they will be worthless to you next snow season. In fact, just running them in hot summer climates will wear them out considerably faster.

dirty and on jack stands

depends on the surface and temperature a bit too.

abrasive hot pavement will trash them if you push hard. smooth cool blacktop might not wear them out too much.

were you planning on using them in the next winter? if not, go for it.

It'd be a great way to burn through half of the tire tread in one day. If you don't want to do that, I say don't do it.

Yea don't do it - you'll just chew them up and be upset when you have to buy another set haha.
