If they didn't specify or you didn't request, they most likely used their in glass which is garbage as you are finding out.

I too had to have my front windshield replaced, which was approximately four years ago.

I have no-deductible glass coverage and I had an option to have either OEM or aftermarket, which was PPG glass installed. The wait-time for the OEM glass was a few weeks, however since I had experience with PPG, I said OK.

Only a year or so later (as it is now), there are two flat or dull spots on the glass where the wiper-blades come-up and then reverse. Of course one is directly in my line-of-sight.

I have claybared the glass to take any other dirt off of it and have glazed and waxed it. This works, but for a very, very short period of time.

What's worse is not only is there that dull/flat spot in my line-of-sight, but if it is night-time, most of the glass seems to haze-up on the outside where the blades make their sweep.

I wonder if I can have the glass replaced under warranty or equivalent and opt for an OEM glass? I'll have to find out.

My disappointment is that, based on my prior experience, PPG used to make high-quality aftermarket replacement windshields. What happened? Even-so, opaque areas and hazing is, to say the least, dangerous.

I think if you call your agent and tell them your windshield is marred to the point that it interferes with your vision, they'll have no choice but to replace it. Couldn't hurt to ask.
