Default ETS Subaru Top Mount Intercooler Group Buy! - $785.00 Shipped!

Hey Guys,

We wanted to start off by offering an introductory price on the ETS Top Mount Intercoolers. The price is $785.00 Shipped in the states.

We have ready these in stock and ready to ship, orders will ship the same day or next day depending on the time of the order.

Pre 2008 Models - 4 qty - $785.00 Shipped.
2008+ Models - 3 qty - $785.00 Shipped.

We have two ways to get in on this group buy.

Paypal to [email protected] or call in at 360-263-3748.

This is you chance to save a decent amount on one of the highest quality top mount intercoolers on the market.

We have tested this intercooler on our own personal shop with a bolt on 35R car and we rate them for up to 500whp. If you plan on pushing the car over 500whp we recommend an upgraded front mount intercooler.

This intercooler is a direct bolt and requires no extra modifications to fit.

Here is the 2008 product description from our website.

We have designed a direct bolt on top mount intercooler for the 08+ Subaru STI. This intercooler features a large 21x7x4 core with 39 charge rows! Most competitor intercoolers have between 24-25 charge rows. By having 39 charge rows our intercooler has 78 heat transfers vs our competitors 48 heat transfer place which results in a greater heat transfer area. This core is designed specifically for the 2008+ Subaru STI this is not an off the shelf core. The end tanks are hand built and hand ported for maximum flow, fit and finish. Unlike our competitors intercooler we require no modifications to the a/c line that run behind the intercooler. The intercooler also uses studs to mount the blow off valve instead of bolts.. this means no stripping out the holes when over tightened. This intercooler has been designed for maxium performance.

Features
  • 21x7x4 large intercooler core
  • Direct bolt on
  • Mounting studs for blow off valve. (No stripping the holes)
  • Clears the A/C line.
  • 39 Charge Rows / 78 Heat Transfer Plates (Competitors: 24 Charge Rows / 48 Heat Transfer Plates)

If you have any questions, let me know! I'm also uploading a video that shows the quality of the intercooler so you can see before you purchase.

Thanks!

Michael

Yes, if someone wants an anodized intercooler, we can do it.

Red, Blue, Black, Gold and a few other custom colors if needed. The price is $100.00 to anodize the intercooler.

Also I updated the original thread with a video.

Thanks!

Michael

That's pretty damn sexy. I wonder how this would stack up against say the Process West unit.

Does 2008+ include WRX? Or just STi only.

Sort of funny question, but what does the TMIC weigh?

I watched a couple videos on youtube of the process west unit and it looks like it has straight through external fins and a less dense core. This core will support 450whp no problem.

Just STI, the 08+ WRX has a different intercooler due to the turbo setup.

21lbs. The unit is dense and has more charge rows then the competitors so it should be a little bit heavier while doing a better job.

Thanks for the info. Will this include the Y pipe? Also, do you have plans to manufacture a intercooler splitter to proper seal the top mount?

Bolts directly to the factory y-pipe, we designed the intercooler to sit against the factory seal.

Is this for the pre 08 as well for the factory seal?

Do you have any pics of the pre 08 one installed?

I would suspect it would require the STI splitter housing/rubber bellow. The WRX parts will cover up a portion of this TMIC's larger surface area. But ETS should confirm if that is indeed true.

I would assume this as well. The WRX one is much smaller.

That wouldn't be a problem for me, as I already have the STi scoop/splitter/bellows. I was curious if it would seal to that on the 05 style.

Did you read at all? They have both pre and post 08 ones. Read the entire post before you ask questions.

Thanks. I read the entire post. Did you read what my question was about?

I am asking about the seal from the factory scoop/splitter/bellows on the pre 08, as most of the information posted is about the post 08. Also there is no information on the pre 08 intercooler on their website.

We have an 05 shop car that it was built on, it seals just like the factory intercooler. The pre 08 intercoolers are slightly shorter then the 08+ intercoolers. It's a direct replacement unit for the STI.

Thanks!

Why not offer all of the TMIC in 08+ size for all <08 models and just make the bracket so it works in <08+?

I have a customer using 2011 STi TMICs on a 2006 STi and it fits nicely, only the passenger side bracket need to be modified/custom. We like it big

the TMIC looks awesome

Excuse me if this sounds stupid, but if I understand correctly; you stating that your 07 STI TMIC seals against the factory splitter implies it is the same length x width x depth dimensions as OEM intercooler? This to me would mean the only difference is internal fin density and fin layout? Is that correct or am I missing something? Not saying there is anything wrong with that, just trying to do my homework as I am debating between your unit and the PW.

This! Only the bracket needs to be redone and it all works. Though for DBC WRX's, I'm not too sure...

I'm assuming it's a deeper unit correct?

Have you done any long term testing on your brackets? Seems like some of the members with stiff rides could crack those off after awhile, might want to brace them in the vertical.

I currently have the ETS TMIC on my 06 STI. The core of the intercooler is thicker than the OEM STI TMIC by at least 1 or more inches (I don't remember my exact measurements). You won't need to modify the OEM splitter to make this fit (unlike the Spearco) but you will need to trim the rubber seal because of the increased thickness. The TMIC bolts right up to the OEM mounting brackets and the fins align with the OEM splitter and seal. I've had both the Spearco and APS TMICs and I hated their terrible fitment. The build quality of the ETS TMIC is on par if not better than the APS and is certainly better than the Spearco. The ETS will definitely will be my last TMIC for the STI...that is until I go with an ETS FMIC, should they develop one for the GD's.

It is constant annoying repetitive questions that stops new vendors from making Subaru parts. You guys already chased David Buschur away, don't do this again.

ETS makes outstanding products. They have been making intercoolers (amongst other things) for plenty of other cars for years, and have went VERY fast with proven results. There is no need to test against another brand when it is known this core flows excellent through years of testing in other applications.

It fits perfect and bolts right up

What else is there to know?

Seriously? We need to know it's worth the price. From the pics I would say yes but empirical data speaks volumes more than a few shots of a nice core.

I personally don't want to know how fast in a quarter or what peak HP
it makes. I need repeatable performance lap after lap.
