Post Scratches on Window!!!

I have a MY99 legacy 2.5 GT and have tinted the car for over a year now!!! I have noticed gradual hairline scrathes appearing on all four windows...WHAT IS CAUSING THIS??? Is the tint scratched from the inside??? Is the window scrathed from the outside??? What should I do???

I have the same problem on my RS - the scratches are on the outside of the window; the tint should be fine.

Scratches are caused by the mechanism inside the window - the rollers methinks.

You're not alone in this problem, I assure you. As for what to do about it - dunno

Has anyone else here tried to get this warranty replaced?

skeandhu is right - your aren't alone. My Legacy has the same problem on the front windows (power windows). In fact, recently, my drivers side window began squeaking when lowering it.

It seems that the brushes on the guides inside the door wear out very quickly, and cause the window to rub against a plastic piece. I'm trying to find the part numbers for replacements.

Good luck

MY RS did it from day one.. I asked them about it and they said it was normal.... I can't tell on mine if its inside or outside, either way its starting to bother me and makes things look really funny in the rear viewmirror.

The dealership here is warrantying windows under bumper to bumper (3 yr). This eventually happens to all of the windows. Mine are quite bad. My friend at the local dealership traded me one of my bad ones for another less bad one that they had warrantied. Check your dealer to see if they could do the same for you.
