Default new TXS intercooler installed, and OOPS 21.8 psi on stock turbo?

alright so ummmm.... let's just say the MASSIVE TXS TMIC is a VERY VERY tight fit, much tighter than I had imagined, I DID have to remove my BOV, even though it said you didn't have to, and I had a BITCH of a time getting the turbo inlet hose on from the IC.... the 1 hour job took me more like 6... sad as it is.

I go out for a test drive, all psyched for my new intercooler, feel and hear the difference. oh and did I ever... SBC-iD 10 sets below the normal spot... BLAM 17.2 psi... WT F i think to myself, i normally only run 15.2 intentionally..... turn it down more... 18.1... holy shinto this intercooler REALLY rocks... turn it down to like OFF, floor it... 21.8 psi...... OOPS?....

needless to say at that point i figured out what i had done wrong, took it back home, threw it under the lights, sure enough i broke the wastegate actuator hose from the boost controller, i'm runnin wide open now :P....

I'll get it fixed tomorrow and get some pics of the IC up.... from the 10 minute drive i took i can tell you it stays REALLY cool... after even a non spirited drive the factory intercooler had soaked up so much heat that it was warm to the touch, even after letting this sit at idle for 5 minutes it was still cool on the sides and top.

The biggest down side is having to remove the entire scoop splitter thing, rubber gromet, etc.... and don't let ANYONE lie to you, it's a pain in the ass to install, and i consider myself FAIRLY competent.... It does in fact touch the AC hose on the passenger side rear portion of the intercooler, is there any reason i need to worry about this other than rattle?...

Peace - Z

From a previous strut bar install on another car... I seem to recall that you can bend that ac bracket a bit if you need a bit of clearance.

My worry about such contact isn't so much rattle, but rather, over time one thing will rub a hole through the other.
