Default 10's

New Age WRX in the 10's tonight. Friend called from the sidelines of the IDRC in CA. Rigoli built 2.2 engine, dog 5mt trans, NOS. full interior new age WRX sedan. Team was "easy street" racing.

The Rigoli's flew in last night with the motor and installed it last night and ran 10's tonight in CA. Big money= little times.

Time was 10.73 @ 135mph or so.... Dont quote me on that....

Everything I just posted was a relay from the sidelines of an I clubber... Who knows if everything is correct... You will have to wait and see.

Congrats to Easy street for running 10's on US soil!!!!!

You bastard... I was gonna post that. That's what I get for callin' yo ass

Fastest run of the night was a 10.73 at 135 mph. They only ran twice, the first run of the night being a low 11 second run. On the third run of the night (which I waited 2 hours for) there was a drivetrain failure at the light. I watched as they tried to figure out the problem, it seems it was a center diff failure although I'm not sure (could have been the half shafts, the box itself, or the rear driveshaft). It should be noted, the third run was a different driver.

I had a talk with one of the Rigoli's (forget which ) and really checked the car out, here are the specs. I was told by Rigoli that the motor makes 750 horse to the flywheel. He also said this motor is more heavily tuned than the motor in the 10.0X car they run in australia.

2002 WRX Sedan
2.2 ltr bored EJ20. It's out of an MY99
5 speed Chalak dog box, stock case
Standard open front diff!! (thing spun the front wheels like whoah)
T-66 turbo running 30psi
Microtech engine management
NOS (not sure how big of a shot)
Race gas tank w/ outboard fuel pump
Mufflerless, catless, straight through exhaust
Rigoli front mount intercooler plumbed to stock TB location

Here are some interesting tidbits I figured out while poking around.

They recieved the motor in a crate last night, installed it, and run a fricken 10 second pass the next day
STOCK EXHAUST MANIFOLD!! (albeit w/ a custom uppipe and downpipe)
Stock fuel rails hacked up to run in parallel (nice mod)
FULL INTERIOR (no gas tank or spare tire though)

Needless to say, this was the sickest Scoob I've ever seen. The Rigoli's were really nice to talk to and I'm sure this car will only get faster.

And I'm spent. Why oh why did I leave my digicam at home (and tell AZScooby for that matter)

Also, it was running MSD ignition and I should note the launches were not all that spectacular (this is crazy concidering the ET).

The car was running a soft rather high suspension setup (not sure which one), the front end near came off the ground when it was launching... nuts.

Another WRX, ran a 12.5 or something... I wasn't exactly paying attention to that one.

40k Australian for the motor and trans.

Now the question as to whether or not it was worth the amount that he paid. 10's is cool and all but having the cash in the bank is cooler.

Ali of Easy Street is the owner. A Rigoli drove the car the first two times.

Also, the $21K included the tranny

a black sedan running a stock turbo and NOS. Consistant low 12s at 110mph, I think 12.2 was the fastest.

I think his name is Stealth-WRX, but thats what I heard, I'm not sure.

For some reason, I can't open that version of the movie?

What did you use to compress it down to 1MB?

Congrats on the 10 sec run, guys!

My downpipe didn't fit in the suit case, so I couldn't hand carry it and had to ship it, hense my absense.

I wasn't planning to run 10s, though, LOL.

11s maybe.
