Cool I love rentals!

Check this pic out of me having fun on some twisty dirt roads in a rental Forester a while back. http://members.nbci.com/The_Top_Dog/forester.jpg

I had a 4 door Civic while my car was getting painted.
well, as the story goes, I worked at a race/distributor shop,I had already paid for a NASA drivers school @ Sears Point....SO,
I took some used, prototype race coil-overs slapped them on. along w/ cat-back exhaust, and some old hossiers, GAB race brake pads & a Sparco Sprint seat.

Well it happened to be one of the funnest times I ever had. We got pics & everything....

It rained a lil' & I spun on turn 5, backed it into the grass. I had mud & grass all under it....it was a BLAST!!!!
Ended up w/o a scratch!
I'll try to find the pics again.

Yeah, Porter also had a rental out here in Colorado. It was an Impala as I recall. I didnt' get to go with them on the driving part (I got a little loose earlier in the night). I WORKED a rental car in Greece, trying to follow the rally cars at the Acropolis rally. That was a four door hatch (Opel Corsa). Definitely one of the best times I've had in a rental car (the handbrake was only attached to the left rear wheel). Rentals are the *****.

Yep, rentals are great. My car is in the body shop right now and the insurance gave me a brand new toyota corolla fresh off the lot. Too bad i lost a hub cap today. Need tp go back and try and find that.. I should be there somewhere along my favorite stretch of twisties.. i tell ya those 175-70-14's Michelins don't quite handle like my P-Zero's.

Yeah, using Dodge Intrepids in G-stock is fun. Too bad they aren't too much of a match for Imprezas and Integras (big, auto, crummy tires, etc...). By sheer coincidence, I was renting an Intrepid that week...

Hmm, Team RRR. Last rental I had, lets see if we can paint the picture.

1 Red 2000 Chevy Cavalier. $19.95 per day
2 McDonalds plastic trays Stolen
1 E-Brake. Free
1 Large Parking Lot $1.45 in gas

Driving around with the trays under the back tires with the E-Brake on, holding the trays under the tires sliding the back end of the car like it was on marbles

Next time I do this, I will have video. You have NO idea how much fun this is, we were laughing so hard, we could not drive. Try that one next time you get a rental.

I just can't bring myself to tear up rentals because I know that once their done with their rental life they will be sold and become someones car. Since most rentals are sedans and boring people haulers I suspect most will eventually be bought by new families just getting started that maybe can't afford new. We all have a common bond in the love for our Scoobys, so the next owner of a rental may also love his/her car.
