Cool 04 Wrx Battlewagon

Hi fellow Nasiocers! This is my build thread for my 04 Wrx Wagon. I picked this car up about 6 months ago. The back story is the previous owner spun a rod bearing in it. I originally was planning on picking this up and flipping it because I already have a built bug. When I first looked at it I was very surprised how clean the body was and have decided to build the wagon and swap over most of my parts from the bug eye to this platform. I have always loved the wagons. That is another reason why I am swapping over everything to that car. I love the battle theme I have going on with my bug so I am carrying that over to what I will do with the wagon.

Worked on the side skirt extensions today. They came out great and are going to look pretty BA. Waiting for it to get a little warmer I am going to Paint the skirts and then leave the extensions just the way they are so it flows with the front lip. I got my HT autos rear bumper lips which I need to fab up since they are for the sedan. kind of curious how well they will fit.. :/

another update! Started to Por15 everything Rockers, removed the whole front end and started doing that. going to do all the wheel wells and everything underneath once I can get it on a lift.

Put the interior back together Since it was still apart from deleting the roof rail. Painted the headliner/ all grey panels black with silver flakes.

Installed Sparco Harness bar, Fire extinguisher, removed all the emblems on the trunk, added bolts to the rear bumper, dipped the gas cap door. Installed the Cree led bar on the bumper. drilled out the bumper for the front tow hook. installed the Ht autos rear lips

Pics!

Hopefully by the end of this weekend I have the rest of the undercarriage and wheel wells por15ed. The front end completely installed and the coilovers/wheels on. After that I still need to wire up the Sti headlights with the Lightwerks harness, Wire up the light bar, wire up the side markers, Turbo timer, Boost and A/F Gauges. install the roof rack, Paint and install the side skirts, install my front white line sway bar. Paint the bay Black.. and a bunch of other odds to get the car ready to swap in the bugs motor.

Okay another update. I sprayed undercoating over top the por15 in the wheel wells and front end. I decided on using rustoleum bed liner in the bay and I am really happy with how it came out so far just need to finish up spraying the firewall and bottom frame rails. Installed the super tone horns, set the preload on the isc coil overs and installed them but they need some fine tuning height wise. Put on the wheels and swapped over my rear rally armor mud flaps. Put the decal on the door and installed the eibach rear camber bolts. Completely installed the front clip minus the fender splash guards because I need to still wire up the jdm side markers.

Another update. Skirts got painted and reassembled, disabled the DRLs, did the fog light mod, wired up the led bar, turbo timer, installed the splash guards and front rally armor flaps. I readjusted the front to even it out but will have to do it again once I put the motor back in since its going to drop.

I ran into a little problem because I didn't realize the pillar pods are different from the sedan to wagon so I ordered an smy cluster double pod. I mounted the innovative a/f up at the top of the windshield and will run my boost and oil pressure in the smy setup.

I am still waiting on a bunch of parts before I can really finish up everything to get it ready to swap the motor over. I also still need to assess some problems with oil leaks and check the oil feed line in my motor before I pull it into the wagon.

I am hoping that this weekend I will have mostly everything wrapped up and maybe the following work on pulling the motor out.

The visors can be found on ebay for like 100 or so. They attach with double sided tape. I got them used for $50 and I had to take a dremel to them to cut out so the clips could go through. Here is a link to them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/C-C-Car-Worx...64db83&vxp=mtr

Im digging the light bar in the grill it looks good! maybe Ill have to pick up a 24" for the grill too haha but I love the yellow tinted bar. I did 2 layers of film tint to try to get the leds to be as yellow as possible.

So I have got almost all the parts in that I ordered. I need to just order the blouch td05 16g and I am finally done ordering stuff! hopefully! On another note I started to part out the bug eye of things I don't need. I sold the bumper and fenders, side skirt spats, the lip and a couple other small odds and ends. I got off work today and some guy came up to me and said he loved the rat style of my car.. lmao but heres how she's looking now hahaha

And some parts waiting to go on the car!

I realized last night that I ordered the wrong up pipe for my setup. Glimpsed only offers the ewg kit with a 3 bolt style header to up pipe flange. So after talking it out with a few people decided to just sell my 3 bolt and I ordered the 2 bolt... I am very happy with RSPD customer service and Fap auto the shop I ordered the parts through. I also got on the phone with tomei about my turbo and am trying to figure out an issue I have had with my turbo making a funky noise since I built my motor and installed all my parts. I am doing an oil pressure check this weekend and hopefully that tells me what my issue is.. :/

Okay another update. I finished up everything with the interior, wired all my gauges up, installed the new grab handles, rolled the the and pulled the fenders and then por15 to help prevent rusting. Installed the front and rear whiteline sway bars/ KB end links , installed the srs exhaust and invidia DP. Installed a grip royal wheel with a momo hub and managed to retain the cruise and horn functions. installed an sti cluster ummm I know there is more but ill just post up some pics. The steering wheel install was a major PIA and took me 6 hours to modify everything and be able to retain the clock spring.
