Default Head Gaskets and Bolts/studs suggestions for 450 AWHP 04 STI

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a redundant post but for some reason I couldn’t find exactly what I needed. I have a 04 STI with a blown head gasket. After a year I am finally fixing it. This build is making 454 AWHP @ 26 pounds of boost. I need to buy head gaskets and bolts or studs. I need to know if there would be any benefits with going non-OEM for these? If so, which ones should I buy for this build.

What would you do if this were your STI?

I was told to stay with stock OEM headgaskets and get either ARP L19 headstuds or MAP Ultimate Duty H11 Head Studs. That's what I'm getting for my build.

Great thanks for the response. Any suggestions on the head gaskets (make, model?)

For head gaskets I would either go with STI OEM ones or Cosworth.

Thanks for the responses. Im found some people are saying that the OEM gaskets are as good as any but the Cosworth ones are not that much more $$. If there is any advantage at all I will buy those. Now im hung up on the studs

I found these: ARP Head Stud Kit 04-09 STI ($240.81) Sound like a mid grade option but cant find out if they are truly any better than stock. Im finding stock ones for about $119

http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/shop/p...IDCategory=214

Also found these which sounds like the "One to get" if the price doesnt matter (ARP L19, $369)
