Default Central Florida Oil?

I'm about to do an oil change on my 00 RS. 123k miles. I've been running 10W30 Royal Purple...before that 5W30 Redline. With the mileage of the car and moving to Orlando from Northeast Ohio the temperature sure has changed. I'm thinking about running 5W40 so my operating oil temperature thickness is a little thicker. I've never really been a fan of the 10W30 because of how long it takes to heat up. Is this a good idea or should I stay with something else? If so...which brand do you guys like? I like running synthetic but I'm not brand loyal. I'll run what works.

I would suggest the shell rotella 5w40 T-6 which is a very good oil from all the reviews here Should be able to get it at walmart in gallon or quart sizes.
