Default Restomage's 2015 WRX Limited - Mod Journal

This thread is mainly for me to document the progress of my 2015 WRX Limited as I plan on modifying it, and I wanted a home for me to look back on it's progress!

I purchased it on August 5th, 2014. I had some serious issues getting this car; I put a $3000 deposit down on one at Irvine Subaru in California and they ended up selling it from under my feet less than 24 hours before I was supposed to fly out and pick it up. I ended up finding the exact one I wanted in Texas at Subaru of Georgetown 48 hours later, flew out there to get it and drove back home to Fort Collins the next day. There were only three, white limited's for sale in the country with dealer option 21, I got one of the three.

This is my first Subaru ever and have been primarily been a Honda and Toyota guy. I sold my RSX-S a few years ago after being tired of FWD/little power and waited until I was done with school and had a career for pulling the trigger on this car. It's been my dream to own one for years and I finally was able to make it happen. It's been even more gratifying to buy this because I own my own business which I started from nothing. I started investing in my career with the money I was making picking up traffic cones at a driving school as a teenager, and now I have a job that supports me and my hobbies.

On to the car - this is my old RSX Type-S. When I owned it I was a poor college student so I just did a few tasteful performance/cosmetic mods:

And now for my 2015 WRX.

As it sits now (BTW if the pictures are too big let me know and i'll resize):

The day I bought it:

Modifications:

Performance

Cobb Accessport
STi short throw shifter
Perrin brass shifter bushing
Perrin aluminum shift stop
Invidia Q300 Catback exhaust
Mishimoto Intake
Cobb J-pipe (backordered)

Exterior

STi front lip
SPT carbon fiber trunk trim
Rallyarmor gravel guards
Avery gloss black vinyl roof
4D carbon fiber vinyl trunk spoiler (pending install)
15-20% tint (not sure)
OLM LED license plate lights
Tail as Turn mod with amber signal bulb delete + OLM LED reverse light mod

Interior

Subispeed WRX steering wheel overlay

Future plans:

CAI (waiting for Cobb)
Cobb downpipe
E85/91 Pro tune
Performance springs (possibly Eibach)
18x8.5 TSW Nurinburgring
...all I have planned for the moment

Looks good so far. That's an AWESOME picture you have with the two rows of Subarus. Looks like you have a nice group there.

I agree. Amazing what a little rule of thirds and proper exposure can do. And the build is what I will be starting next week..

Thanks guys! I appreciate everyone's feedback, I take photos for a living so if I didn't have some good photos of my car I'd deserve to be fired lol.

I can't wait to start putting more performance mods in my car, in the meantime I'm pretty happy with it as of now.

Looking good so far. Like the contrast the vinyl roof provides. I too actually went from an RSX Type S into a WRX limited -- the WRX is great isn't it! LOL.

Update Nov 21st - 2014

Finally got around to actually installing my Perrin shifter bushing and shift stop. The install was incredibly easy. If you have the right tools, do it yourself. Just don't be a noob like me an accidentally drop a spare nut down the gear assembly, get it stuck on the reverse lockout cable and be unable to put your car in reverse lol.

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Subispeed exhaust this week.

Was planning on purchasing a Subispeed exhaust, then I noticed they raised the price on their website so I ended up ordering an Accessport instead; a nice compromise if you ask me! That's due to arrive on Friday, going to go ahead and get that installed and start datalogging.

I also picked up the parts for the Tail as Turn signal and backup module modification, OLM LED license plate lights and some 4D carbon fiber high gloss vinyl to wrap the trunk spoiler to match my SPT trunk trim.

Will be updating later this week with pics and videos!

Love the vinyl roof. My buddy has an orange 2014 that he vinyled the roof. Looks crazy good. Was thinking about doing my Galaxy Blue but the contrast wouldn't be as dramatic as your white.

Great looking WRX, exceptional pics, really well done mods, and I'm just a ways down the road from you in Aurora, how could I NOT subscribe!

I don't have any decent pics yet, but I'll take some poor, amateurish shots soon.

Nice work.

Congrats on buying the car.

And what happened with the 3000$ deposit you send ? Did you get it back ? I can believe your story. It's a shame what the dealer did. Isn't a deposit supposed to keep a car for you ? I guess you would have love to smash his face on the ground.

And, your RSX looked good. I'm coming from the Honda scene too, and for a poor student, you had an awesome cars. In France, RSX haven't been sold, and the few ones we can find are only imports and cost around 17-20k$.

I'm in for more.

Thanks! I ended up getting the deposit back, still a ****ty situation though. The dealer even sent me a picture of the car with a sold sign on it. Bastards!

Glad you get it back. I've been scammed when I was about to buy a RX7. Send a 1000 deposit. The guy sold the car and didn't gave my money back because i quote "you made me miss opportunity to sell the car". **** you.

So yeah, I think you've been pretty lucky. The dealer is still a **** yeah.

Just installed a Mishimoto Intake and loaded the Cobb Mishimoto OTS map. Enjoy some vtec sounds, bad commentary, and my attempt to pick up chicks.
