Default Torque converter shaft stuck in 4EAT

I recently removed my engine from my 02 Forester to do head gaskets and timing belt and other things. When i took the engine out the torque converter came out quite a bit, but the shaft (not sure what the technical name is for the shaft) that attaches to the TC is IN the transmission. I saw some people make a special tool to remove it, but I don't really have access to anything to machine a pipe to make the tool. Does anyone know if there's a tool that can be bought? Just curious.

You talking about the "tube" that's about 2.5" ID? I used a hook pick to grab it. It is a screwdriver handle and a steel rod about 1/8" OD and 6" long with a 90* bend at the end.

Yeah, that'd be it. I'm pretty sure that won't work though cause mine is jammed in there. I failed to mention I torqued the engine back to the trans and the TC shaft must not have been seated right so it got jammed inside. I've read this has happened to tons of people and they do come out. It's just a pain in the bum. I'm half tempted to just drop my 4EAT from my 02 wrx parts car into it and deal with the TC shaft later.
