2.0 to 2.5 hybrid running issues
So i have a couple of questions about my wrx 2.5 hybrid build i have been on for the past year
I finally got the engine back in the car and everything hooked up and started As of right now all of my external parts are back stock besides the exhaust and intake Internal performance parts are as such, cp 9.5:1 pistons, briain crower stage 2 cams, adjustable cam gears (set to the stock middle position), 2.0 heads shimmed to correct clearance Capped off all vaccum lines besides brake booster, fuel pressure reg and map Now to the question... i have to start the car with carb cleaner, and once its started and above 2000rpms it runs like a dream, builds boost great etc. If it drops Below 2000rpms will cut out and die... I am running a ej25 (came out of impreza non turbo) and is now turbo charged, silly me i though all ej25's were the same, and in a previous post was told the block are like legos and will interchange off anything. But thats a different story... I have the 2.0 crank position gear (the part the crankshaft position sensor picks up from) and 2.0 CPS, should i be running the 2.5 gear and pickup? I need to get it running decent, then i will be adding my 20g turbo, fmic, injectors, fuel pump, aluminum intake Any suggestions are greatly appreicated!

What year na block do you have. And did you open up the chambers on your heads to match the 2.5 bore?

No i didnt open up the combustion chambers, i read that the only (correct) way is to cnc machine it down, as long as you run a thicker head gasket it corrects the compression ratio and is fine to run without any modifications. I believe the n/a block is out of an 06 impreza

its nothing wrong with running na25 on boost.. i built one that didnt have any problem boosted awesome only down fall is it wasnt intended for boost so pushing crazy boost wouldn't be smart just my opinion
