Smile Finally my Legacy s401 headlamps are in

I finally got to install the headlamps and they look just awsome in the car. Like another car. The install wasn't too hard clipped a bit of metal here and there but not too hard to tackle. I took photos during the install so I will post the pics as soon as a I can to show you guys. But I noticed the lamps flickered when it is running on DRL's but I will disable them tomorrow once I find out where it's located. If someone knows where it's located, I will appreciate it.
Now that the headlamps are installed, next week I should be receiving the light bar from Gorilla so I am hyped right now.

Whoa, those look amazing!

Love your grill mod too! How did you do it? Did you buy a different one or hack up your stocker?

You know RHD headlights are going to blind oncomming traffic in a LHD country, right?

Probably but then I get blinded by old folks in their century's in high beam or tools that put those annoying purple or yellow HID lights . Those are effing wrong. I rode around last night and so far I did not get a flick back but I mostly do my driving all day anyway so I am not worried, atleast yet but I am enjoying right now. After sitting in the shed for a while from China, they are money.

Hey Steve, I used my old digital camera so I'll go back and take some pics just you.

WOW those headlight are amazing!

BTW, here in Canada we are aloud to have RHD cars, I've had a few myself and not once was I flashed any high beams on the highway or heard anyone complain about my headlights.

It's a totally different story with the hella's on the Baja though lol

seriously, I love your headlights! post more info when you have the time

I bought this grill off of someone here our forum like a year ago. I saw that subiesleeper did it to his beast so I had to do it to mines. I did by his downpipe and exhaust so I have picked up a few tricks from him. You can look for these grills on ebay or legacy forums and they run around 70 to 90 bucks. I bought my four pots and headlamps on legacy forums so they have some goodies to go around.
This grill is not professionally made because it's made out of fiberglass but it's functional. If you ever decide to buy one, I can try to help you by showing how it is installed in the car.

Disabled the DRL's so work is complete. It is a white plug next to a black plug on a box that is attached to the steering column. I think everyone should disable the DRL's so conserve the life of the bulbs especially if silverstar's are used. I used to blow a silverstar around every 14 to 16 months which I think that is way to premature for failure.

I went to my mechanic that was kinda scared about installing the lamps and he was amazed how it turned out. I told him I did some surgery and it all snapped in place.

what did you have to mod to make them fit? How does the light pattern look at night?

I'll try to gather up the pics that I took when I was installing them. It was not hard at all including the wiring. As far as illumination, way better than stock and high beams are sick. I didn't expect it but i'll take it. The only thing that I really dislike the poor lighting baja suffers. I am not saying these lights light up like a stadium, but I am happy with them. To top it off, they look real damn good in the car.

Hmmm I run with my headlights on 24/7. I don't care how often I consume bulbs... knowing I am as visible as possible to keep morons from pulling out in front of me is worth afew bucks for a new bulb. But to each their own

you have to disable the DRL's with these lights they are not designed to handle the lower voltage.

You're right about voltage. when I installed them and turned on the car, the lights started to flash on DRL's but once i flicked over to on it was fine. I realized that the flashing meant lower voltage so my first troubleshoot was to disable the DRL and it worked.

I just through out there a suggestion. I ran my car as well for years burning up my silverstar's and I did not care either but I always wanted to disable the lights. I am pretty sure you have been driving for a while and I think you did fine in your previous vehicles that did not have the DRL feature. I understand the theory behind having light s for morons but still distraction is even greater now because of technology. I have seen boys playing their nintendo DSI while driving so I think we are living in newer generation of distracted drivers but this is another can of worms.

Yep str8 from Japan. There was a guy who lived over there who was supplying these type of goodies on another forum. They were practically brand new like out the box.

Looks sick, you're making me regret selling mine, the gaps don't look too bad on your car but I feel like it may have still bothered me haha.
