Default Anyone add EDM Headlight washer to a USDM impreza?

I know they don't normally fit on USDM imprezas because of the bumper beam, but I have a FMIC, so it doesnt apply. I have collected a list of part numbers, just have to find out where to order. If anyone has done this, please post.

I went the ghetto way. 15$ generic windshield washer pump, 10$ windshield washers, a pushbutton switch. Drilled a hole in the bottom of the windshield washer tank, connected the ghetto pump, run the rubber hoses towards a Y-splitter check valve, towards the nozzles.

The biggest PITA was to find a check valve, otherwise all the washer fluid happily drips throught the nozzles. Found one at Volvo, or Mercedes IIRC (basically, any found online will do), but since the release pressure was too high, I opened it up and trimmed the spring.

This setup is not nearly powerful enough to wash the headlights in the same way some OEM high pressure systems do - but more than sufficient to remove slush or snow that piles up while driving on a freeway during wintertime.

Hey bluefoton, I know this is old but I cant stand anymore losing half my output with salt and dirt deposits.

Hell I had to stop 3 times yesterday night on a 1h highway drive to clean my headlights with snow and my hands. I guess you get anal about any dirt and salt blocking the output once you start retrofitting good projectors in.

So, is the low pressure enough to remove baked salt and dirt from the headlight, or can it only clear light snow? Does it work at highway speeds too or does the stream just misses the headlight because of the wind force?

Thanks

4 years later... It only cleans the snow. Too low a pressure to actually wash the headlamp, unfortunately
