Default Audi To Unveil Three Concepts 2012 Beijing Auto Show

Next Monday is shaping up to be a big day for the unveiling of new cars its the opening media day at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Of course since China is half way around the world, official news on the unveilings will start appearing on Sunday evening in the U.S. Rumors and leaked pictures might appear even sooner!

In just a few years the Beijing Auto Show has become one of the most important auto shows in the world. No surprise, as it is such a booming market.

Take Audi. China is easily its biggest market, with monthly sales running about three times what Audi enjoys in the U.S. Audi has just had a record first quarter in sales in China, just as it has managed in the U.S., which is now its fourth largest market behind the UK, Germany and China.

Its no wonder Audi is making a big splash at the Beijing Auto Show with three concepts being premiered.

Weve already looked at the RS Q3 concept details of which were revealed earlier this week. The Q3, which has yet to appear in the U.S., is based off the VW Tiguan platform. The lowered RS Q3 concept is powered by a slightly more powerful 360 hp version of the turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine found in the Audi RS3 I drove last year and the Audi TT RS.

Like other manufacturers, Audi already has stretched versions of the A4 and A6 that are exclusive to the Chinese market. Audi says it will premiere an A6 L technology platform. Whatever that means, we are not sure.
The third concept will also be based off the Q3. Again no information has been leaked at this time. Perhaps itll be a stretched Q3?
